Ask Spirit… What Should I Do?
This afternoon for dinner, I was trying to figure out what to eat. My husband had a meeting, so I was on my own for dinner. I didn’t want a salad because I had one for lunch. Trying to think of something quick, I was not making a good choice and was just going to grab a hamburger. When I was close to home, the Spirit said, “Why don’t you just make a broccoli bacon &cheese baked potato? It is quick and easy and more nutritious, plus it is something warm for dinner. I thought, “Why didn’t I think of that? And why didn’t I even think to ask you in the first place?”
Just like we “Ask Siri” or “Ask Alexa” we need to “Ask Spirit.” Like Siri or Alexa, the Holy Spirit will answer! Doesn’t the Bible tell us to “Ask, and it shall be given. Seek and you shall find. Knock, and the door will be opened unto you? Everyone that asks receives. Everyone that seeks finds, and everyone that knocks the door is open” (Matthew 7:7). So what are you waiting for… ASK!
God says “when we call, He will answer…and show us great and mighty things that we know not.” When you call someone on the phone, they answer… so does God!

I can’t tell you how many times in my life I have asked the Holy Spirit for help or direction and He has given it. We think to pray and ask about the BIG things, but He also wants to help us with the LITTLE things too. He has helped me so many times. Here are just a few:

1. He told me what spice to add to a recipe to make it taste great
2. Led me to a store I had never shopped in to find the perfect Easter dress
3. Directed me to a store I had never shopped in to find the perfect odd-sized frame I was looking to match a photo I had taken
4. Showed me a book the cover of a book He wanted me to read, led me to the bookstore, and right to the aisle to purchase it, when I had no idea what the book title was or what the subject was.
5. Told me to take a different route home, only to find out if I had taken my usual route, there was a huge wreck and the traffic would have been backed up two hours
6. When I was a girl learning to play the piano and get stuck, I would go to sleep and have a dream of me playing the piano the wrong way. Then the Spirit would show me my hands playing it the correct way. I would wake up the next day and try it out, and sure enough, it worked!
